On Wednesday night, I was lucky enough to attend a Napoleon Perdis Masterclass, starring the man himself, Napoleon Perdis. Well, what can I say other than wow. The makeup, the atmosphere, the music. It all reminded me of how much I love this industry. The vibe in the room was brilliant. A room full of people who shared the same passion and were on the edge of their seats watching every brush stroke in awe.
Moments before the Masterclass commenced…
Napoleon’s fabulous creative team
Napoleon covered his latest “Pretty Preppy” look and took us through a demonstration. Pretty Preppy is all about nude skin and a clean finish, with minimal eye make up and focus on the lips and skin. The campaign image used is of a model from Fashion Week. Napoleon explained how he believed she perfectly captured the Pretty Preppy look.
Napoleons Top Tips For Pretty Preppy
1. Keep skin gorgeous and light. Apply Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Skin Renewal Serum into the skin with a stippling brush, wait a moment, then apply Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer in the method before using a light coverage foundation, Napoleon opted for Off Duty Tinted Moisturiser. He then finished off by pressing in Camera Finish using his favourite #35R brush.
2. Brows, brows, brows! Napoleon applies his Brow Pencil from the outside in and then brushes brows back in to place using a spoolie. He prefers this way as it helps him achieve beautiful, balanced brows. PRO TIP: On a mature skin, use China Doll Gel Eye liner in Earth to fill in brows, it lasts longer!
3. Lip. Napoleon creates an “expensive looking lip” by applying Napoleon Perdis Colour Disc in Scarlet on top of DeVine Goddess Lipstick in Eros. I absolutely LOVED this tip! It just took the lip colour to a different dimension.
In addition to Pretty Preppy, Napoleon went through 3 additional looks on the night, Luxe Lash, Total Chic and Smoky 2013.
After a very inspirational 2 hour+ Masterclass, we were led into his concept store to meet the man himself and subject ourselves to paparazzi. Below is a couple of snaps taken on an iPhone, excuse the bad lighting!
All in all a truly fabulous night, great tips, a great vibe plus some hints on some very exciting products coming out for Napoleon this year!
